Duraflex Diving Boards

14' Duraflex

The 14' Duraflex diving board is used for recreational diving in pools that have diving-well dimensions conforming to FINA dimensional requirements.

This diving board model is the same as the 16' Duraflex in every way except length. It is basically a one piece ribbed extrusion of aluminum alloy 6070-T6, heat treated for a yield strength of 50,000 psi. It has a torsion-box extrusion, an anchor angle, and tip end cap riveted to the basic section. It is tapered from the fulcrum area to the diving tip.

The board is coated in aqua-colored thermal-cured epoxy resin. The top surface is finished with a laminate of flint silica and alumina, between coats of epoxy, to effect a slip-resistant surface. The diving board is bolted to the diving board stand by 2 carriage bolts, part # SF122 5/8" x 3 1/2". The underside ribs of the board are protected from direct contact with our metal fulcrum by rubber channels (8) attached to the board with epoxy adhesive.

16' Duraflex

The 16' Duraflex is used for recreational diving in commercial pools such as City pools, YMCA pools and other pools that conform to FINA dimensional requirements. Find the latest FINA dimensions on the FINA website at fina.org.

Maxiflex Model B

The 16' Maxiflex model B (also called the Maxi-B) is the diving board that is used in all major competition diving events in the world. Universities that have a diving program have the Maxi-B diving boards, as do many high schools. The Maxi-B is lighter in weight, and is said to give a slightly quicker action in the hurdle-step. Divers who practice on the Maxi-B are accustomed to this action, and do not want to adjust to a different timing when they compete away from their practice facility.

The 16' Maxi-B is basically a one piece ribbed extrusion of aluminum alloy 6070-T6, heat treated for a yield strength of 50,000 psi. It has a torsion-box extrusion, a two piece anchor angle, and tip end cap riveted to the basic section. It is tapered from the fulcrum area to the diving tip, and it is tapered from the fulcrum area to the anchor end. The double-taper allows the whole board to arc while flexing, giving it more lift and much higher performance than the 16' Duraflex. What distinguishes the Maxi-B from the other models is that the diving tip has 189 slots in the metal of the top "skin" which reduces the weight of the tip-end, and has the taper at the rear of the board, which the other models do not.

The board is coated in aqua-colored thermal-cured epoxy resin. The top surface is finished with a laminate of flint silica and alumina, between coats of epoxy, to effect a slip-resistant surface. The diving board is to be bolted to the diving board stand by 2 carriage bolts, part # SF122 5/8" x 3 1/2". The underside ribs of the board are protected from direct contact with our metal fulcrum by rubber channels (8) attached to the board with epoxy adhesive.

Paragon Diving Boards

Paraflyte stands are designed to receive either 16' or 14' diving boards. A 16' diving board by 20" wide, with a 24" fulcrum range, is the only board acceptable for official, competitive diving. A 14' board may be used on a recreational diving stand when less spring is desired. All diving boards have an integral non-skid surface.

Duraflex: Acknowledged as one of the finest aluminum boards, the Duraflex can be found at leading competitive pools. It tapers from tip to fulcrum while maintaining the thicker section from fulcrum to butt end.

Maxiflex B: A double tapered version of the Duraflex. This board tapers from tip to fulcrum maintaining a constant thickness through the fulcrum range, then thinning out toward the butt end. The double tapering offers livelier action. The top surface is perforated to reduce aerodynamic drag during flexing and rebound. Available in 16' length only.

Paraflex: A high-quality aluminum board for general commercial and institutional use. Uniform thickness throughout entire length.

Century (Eureka): The very best of the wood-fiberglass boards. The core has 26 laminations with complete fiber- glass wrap on all sides and edges, with extra layers of fiberglass over the fulcrum area.
